I Survive Another Year
September 29, 2007It was a close call, kinda. Sorta.
Okay, not really. I have had one of the worst birthday weeks *ever*, though. Last weekend I managed to keep it together long enough to play through the campaign mode of Halo 3 for review, and get Katie back to about 100%. She was ill last weekend, and that was pretty miserable on her part. : /
Really glad I got that review up. My first review that’s gone up before the street release date, you know.
BUT! By Monday she was well ‘enough’ to go back to work … and I fell down. The last time I was this sick was when we went to Orlando. I’ll spare you the gorey details, but I don’t really remember my Birthday. Like, at all. Or most of Wednesday. By Thursday I was well (again, ‘enough’) to do my posting duties. Yesterday I was actually feeling pretty crappy too, but by evening I’d rallied … and now I’m actually feeling pretty good. Gonna take a shower to clear the head in a bit, and then, huzzah!
I turned 27 this week, which makes me this close to dead 30. My wife softened the blow of death/horror/disease by gifting me with the Blu-ray version of Superman Returns, Justice League Unlimited, and a great laptop lapdesk thingie (which I’m using right now). She was also extremely patient with me, which is good, because I’m a really terrible sick person. Since I got out of college I’ve only been sick a handful of times so I’m, um, not very good at it.
Today we’re having dinner with Katie’s folks, a raincheck from Thursday night. We were supposed to have dinner with my family on Wednesday, something we’re going to correct sometime this coming week. Other that that, Imma just focusing on a few articles and reviews. Travel season’s done, and (assuming I don’t catch the Bubonic Plague again) October and November can focus on the important stuff: friends, family, and games.
